Wilderness

from Lost Art (album) by The Goths

/

about

'Wilderness' inhabits the dreary denizen existence of standing on the pinnacle of a black crag in permanent twilight. A gesture, perhaps, or a state of mind. Though the song also speaks to the kind of awe inspiring experience one is confronted with, in the sublimity of untamed nature, a nature yet oftentimes ruthless, or forebodingly bleak.

lyrics

The end of the world is nigh
These crags without life
A castle that looms
This guy is a solemn monolith
Pounded by storms
Pinnacles dripping wet
In the wilderness
Awaiting the end of time
On an island so dark mountains
That stand sublime are an ocean apart
